When using any rope grab, freefall distance must never exceed 6'.  The best way to ensure a reduce the possibility of serious injury. OSHA mandates that free fall distances not exceed 6'.

Gemtor recommends that an energy absorber be part of a fall arrest system whenever possible, in order to ensure that forces incurred during a fall are less than the OSHA limit of 1,800 lbs. (See pg. 6 for energy absorbing lanyards, pg. 11 for energy absorbing rope grabs or pg. 10 for self-retracting lanyards and lifelines.)

Care should be taken to prevent abrasions or cuts. Ropes with larger diameters have greater abrasion resistance.
Specify length when ordering. All lanyards, lifelines and positioning lines come standard with Model # 3155 locking snaphook(s) with 5/8" gate opening. use a 2' or 3' long lanyard.
